Uh-oh

We have a reject pair!

(don't know what happened to the colour in the above pic, they are the same pair)

This is the same pair- 2 different holes, and she ain't impressed that everyone saw her undies! (At least she was wearing some, unlike my faux pas...)

How on earth did that happen with overlocked seams?

I have had the same thing happen with cord pants. I found if I just overlocked the seams it happened but if I sewed first then neatened sewn seam with the overlocker it didn't happen.

Oh my goodness, oh my goodness, Jazzy's pair came home the same way a few days ago. I thought it was my crappy sewing. I am interested in what Domilee said but not sure if I'm confident enough to have another go and try it though.

I've noticed a realdecline in the quality of cord fabric (pinwale cord) from Spotlight in the last couple of years. The fluffy side wears off really quickly too.

I've been flat felling all my pant seams lately & that has helped....I loved those pants....I'd like a pair myself...minus the split that is.

How is it that not a single comment refers to the bit about you being undie-less at some point?! ROTFLMAO!!

Shame about the wanton destruction on the pants.

I wonder if you seamed them just using 4 threads on the overlocker? I have found that I need to machine sew then overlock cord too (otherwise the seams start to part really quickly). Which doesn't mean that overlocking them is wrong ... but does make me wonder if the stitch just needs to be a bit smaller?

PS. Sorry haven't sent you the Avon samples yet lady. Have been bit disorganised with this bronchitis. :(

Strike a light! This sewing bizzo is FRAUGHT with danger. So, so pleased that my dortjes didn't work for the eight year old. Two year old undie-showing tantrums are way easier to get over...

I found your blog through Kate's, while admiring all those Dortje pants popping up on the blogs.

Those you made look great, I really must try making a pair.
