Xmas snaps

I finally set the tree up, now the birthday is over. I put it on top of the table, and it's taller than me! I love the lights, first thing I put on when I get home from work.
The red chenille gave me a bunting idea....more to come, it's not as finished as I'd like.

I finally put this one together- a pattern from Handmade, Vliesofix and an hr, just have to sew around it now. And make the skirt. Not much.

I passed on the gingerbread man bug to my neighbour, Sarah. She took it a bit further and did this! Stick + spray paint + tin foil = cool tree! I'm glad my swap partner liked hers as well!

I am getting very lucky with the embroidery/tapestries lately too. I found all this handmade white bedlinen? that looks hand embroidered, and the small ones. Lots of ideas for reusing. I can't believe the quality of the items- the lace around the edges is hand sewn on, lots of pillowcases and bolster cushion covers (long tubes with embroidery either end). Maybe this was an unwanted gift?

Off to the market today, hmm, what will we come home with?

My Creative Space

Wow, the last one of the year!! I've enjoyed doing these, I've missed some weeks if I'm still struggling with the same project, but generally it's spurred me on to get things finished!
And nothing spurs you on like a market! I spent the last few nights and today's finishing off long ago started items, and some new ones.
Like bunting....(in with the old faithful pencil rolls)

FINALLY sewing the embellishments onto the tee shirts (it's fun picking them, but hard work doing them!)

and swiping hangers from Little Miss's wardrobe, as well as a few unworn handmade items.

Problem: by 3pm when the heavens opened up, I decided it was just too risky for my non-waterproof items to risk it, and opted out. At least I'm getting my market mojo back! Look out 2010!
Check out Kirsty over here- the hostess with the most-est!

Birthday wrap up

Wow, with over 100 photos I am kinda glad I had to limit it to 5! Too many good ones, but here a few to describe the day my Little Miss turned 6!
First was being woken up at 6am! I waited a decent hour before texting a friend- if I'm up, everyone's up heehee. Not as many cuddles in bed as usual- there were presents to find!

After present unwrapping, a birthday treat for breakfast and pedicure followed....

and what seemed like hours to a little girl to kill till it was time for the party. Another shirred dress and a pretty smile.

ready to take on the inflatable at the pool party!

Of course, a cake and lollies made the day, good friends, music and lots of great gifts, she is one happy 6 yr old (still recovering, I think, it was early bedtime again tonight!)

Happy Birthday Poppet!

Hmm, you like? Like the look of human teeth on a ring?

This immediately reminded me of something I'd see on this site.

But no, it and it's fellow human hair and sterling silver jewellery are available here.

Now I know what to make out the stuff that I pull out the plug every week!!!!

He's making a list....

Oops, not yet, it's the number one day one the social calender. Well, the day before it. What could be more important than a certain 5 yr old's 6th birthday?
Today has bought more grief than I ever imagined, so much so that I grew more grey hair and have bitten the bullet and bought a home dye job for tonight! She's exasperating......
But here are the preps so far- the tried and tested recipes

the old faithful that stands unused for very long periods of time (staring in envy at the sewing machine)

gingerbread cutters finally used

Tonight's jobs: make slab of cake into a whale; dye hair; run to shop for liquorice for whale's mouth; paint toenails (I have to make it a bit about me, don't I? I pushed her out...)

brain scramble

OK, a real post later on, but I thought I'd better ask while I remember to! It's very embarrassing that at the age of 35 I think I've developed Alzheimer's'- I am relieved that in one days time a DSi will be given to my daughter for me to steal and bring back the brain cells with Brain Training. (Is it just me or does that seem like homework though......)

OK, enough waffling, here is my problem- I responded to someone about swapping some wool, and have lost the email! And can't remember who it was! It is defiantly not because you weren't important, I just have issues some days.....

SO flick me an email and I'll send you the pics, lots of goodies to send (they should make up for the fact I've forgotten you!) And then I can remove this embarrassing post....

New stuff

I've been getting a few goodies in the mail lately, and have been loving it! Even if I have to pay for them, it's fun to receive stuff.
Today I got this pile delivered to work. Then I didn't have to wait till I got home to look it over! I ordered this from the flash-whizz-bang new online shop over here, it's great! A quick phone call to give credit card details is essential, as you then have a lover-ly chat to Leah, and can discuss your postage options. Xmas pressies sorted, and Betty-Jo's bag....

After seeing these guys in person on Saturday, I had buy the pattern from here, and it and it's friend arrived yesterday. Check out Selina's effalunt Marsha. As the lady herself commented "You have killed me with cuteness!"

And the Xmas decoration swap is over, and mine is in the post, so can't show you the pics yet. But how great is Janice, she even included Little Miss in it! Can't wait to get the tree up after official 6yr old b'day celebrations are over on Sunday.

Now I have to enter some more things to win stuff and receive more mail!
