Revamp Part 1

I have been seeing cool little footstool makeovers all over blogland

I counted my lucky starts when this one was at the oppy today for $5

I raced home and got to work (denying the kid her promised bike ride)

OK, we're down to 2 layers unpicked, but the 2nd layer seems to have 3 pieces sewn together....

Back to vinyl. Wow, I thought, someone's covered over this? But the corners
were giving it away.....

The legs came off pretty easily, they are a nice plastic.....

The kid helped me out with some action shots. I nearly broke a sweat!

Hmm...

Right back to a pillow (as in on the bed) squished into a pillow case!

Lets just say, there was a LOT of dirt, I used sandpaper, pliers and elbow grease and
here's what I ended up with!

Hmmm, could've gone to Bunnings for that......

Oh you've got to love a good challenge though don't you? Thank god mine was a lot simpler than that...although the smell of the century old dust was a little confronting. Best of luck and can't wait to see the finished result.

Oh. Bugger. I did one when I was preggers; if you remember I just glued (yes... glued) fabric to the original vinyl lmao.

Good luck!

I love how you have photos all the way through, and I have to chuckle that you ended up with a piece of wood and 4 legs!
Whats that saying? It's all about the "experience".....

All that work to reveal the end! I am sure it will be worth all the work in the end, and it would have cost more than $5 at Bunnings!

Suburban archeology? Are any of the fabrics(when cleaned/dirt removed) usable? Looking forward to what you finish with.

...'recolygy' is my word verification - made up word that kind of relates to the post...weird!

had a good chuckle with the end result. I can really relate to this. and "could've got it at bunnings" comment was priceless. But just think of the therapy benefits of delayering the stool.
...priceless :)
